In Bradford the first school admin systems were installed under LMS (Local Management of Schools) in 1989. Over the years the hardware improved and was replaced, the Novell servers were replaced with Windows servers, and systems grew and became more sophisticated. UDB Solutions Ltd was involved through employment by the LEA from square one, and our staff helped to develop the networks we see installed in Bradford Schools today, giving us a unique insight into the technical and operational aspects of ICT in a school office.
UDB Solutions Ltd still install and configure Admin systems in schools to the standards still in use by the authority. We can build and install both fileservers and workstations along with the transfer of both SIMS and Microsoft Office data. Capita SIMS is a very large and complex application. UDB Solutions Ltd has experience of supporting SIMS installations almost since the birth of SIMS in 1989. We continue in that capacity supporting the SIMS Systems in our subscriber schools and we maintain a relationship with Capita SIMS which enables us to do so. We are currently unable to provide SIMS training.
"We have worked with UDB for a number of years and rate their services as very good. They have provided us with all the infra-structure for the ICT provision in school. We find them totally reliable, honest and hardworking.
They have also acted as critical friends and helped us to evaluate our ICT provision. They are prepared to work flexibly to suit the customer and are not work shy or clock watchers. All the completed work is usually followed up and they aim to please, always.
I have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone."
